Is Your Team Engaged and Driving Improvements?
At LEAN Frog, we realize that people are the key to your school system’s success. At every turn through the ASSESS, IMPROVE, SUCCESS cycle, we work shoulder to shoulder with directors and staff to identify and sustain both process and organizational improvements. Process improvements help you better allocate resources such as time, energy and money. The goal is to eliminate process waste and variation. Organization improvements help you better allocate people to eliminate waste and variation that comes from communication, focus and accountability issues. The goal is to create a culture of high expectation and high involvement.
How We Do It:
- Enhance employee engagement
- Implement process & organizational improvements
- Better allocate resources
- Eliminate wasteful activities
- Improve communication, focus & accountability
- Optimize use of technology
- Improve student outcomes
Rapid Improvement Event
Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) usually occur over a 2-4 day period and involve on-site work with a cross functional team. The work involves both innovation and problem-solving. Rapid Improvement tools include Value Stream Mapping (VSM) or using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) approaches. Benefits of the RIE approach include immediate cross-functional buy-in across departments, a deep understanding of the process (reducing the need for training) and allows your team to hit-the-ground running. In short, we work with your team members to ensure they know what to do and how to do it. Usually improvements are implemented over the following 90 day period. Depending upon your district resources, we continue coaching/facilitating or we take a more active role with some tasks to fully implement improvements within 60-90 days.
Organizational Design
With Organizational Design, we take what we learned from the organizational review and comparative school system best practices to implement work flow improvements, align functions, and increase communication and accountability. We work side-by-side with each department head and team to understand inputs and outputs in the context of internal and external customer requirements and to identify issues related to communication and employee engagement. Together we design an organizational structure that is efficient, productive, and promotes greater focus, accuracy and accountability.
