People, Process, and Profit
In a recent online survey by the American Society of Quality in December of 2009 more than 1,000 manufacturing professionals were asked what one tip they would offer to manufacturers to ensure revenue growth in 2010… The third highest rated response was, “implement more lean processes.” In today’s recessionary times manufacturing companies of all types and sizes are faced with immense challenges:
What I’ve Found While the success of Lean in manufacturing has been well documented, few small and medium companies have been successful at building sustainable lean cultures and have only received minimal payback for their efforts. This has been due to a heavy focus on immediate Kaizen improvements and NOT developing the support systems to maintain lean improvements. Other companies believe that due to their small size or custom make-to-order production Lean cannot be beneficially applied and simply have never tried. Why We can Succeed with Lean My approach works were others have failed. The reason: I begin with your team. We develop a clear understanding of the value you deliver to your customers and how to increase that value position. While immediate “low hanging fruit” savings opportunities are almost always identified, these are pursued in tangent to developing a Lean Performance Management System focused on supporting and cultivating improvements over the long haul. Where other consultants come and go, our approach is relationship based. My team and I are mentors and coaches. We will be on hand as your local subject matter experts whenever you need us. Your risk is a minimum as our work is 100% guaranteed to meet your approval or you do not pay. It’s in every contract! For more information, please download Manufacturing 101, An Introduction.
